Hi, I’m Casey Constantine! Some of you may have known me as Casey Konstantin Serin, the would-be real estate mogul dubbed “Worlds Most Hated Blogger.”

I bought my first home at age 19, with a zero-down FHA loan back in 2002. The next year I sold it making a 35k profit. Needless to say, I was elated at the large return. Shortly after that sale, I began taking seminars learning everything I could about real estate investing. Getting financing for real estate was extremely easy in those days and I had great credit. In just 8 short months, I had purchased 8 homes in several different states, no money down! Things were going smoothly, I had already flipped 2 of the 8 homes and money was rolling in. Then, the market began to crash in late 2006. The nightmare had begun. I was over-leveraged with 2 million dollars in debt and no money to pay my bills.

The experience was an enlightening one (painful) to say the least. I learned and grew a lot through the whole process, gaining valuable knowledge. I’ve always been a firm believer in sharing both success and failures and felt compelled to share the story with the world.  So I started a blog called “I Am Facing Foreclosure” in September 2006.

I was being completely vulnerable and naively transparent in the blog exposing the raw truth of my financial situation and the conditions that were in place that made it easy to qualify for risky loans.  USA Today called me the “poster child for everything that went wrong in the real estate boom”.  My blog become an instant hit with thousands of daily visits, hundreds of (mostly critical) comments on every post,  and international media exposure that lasted for over a year. I even made an appearance on the Dr. Phil show where he recommended I take a break from the Internet if I wanted to save my marriage.

The notoriety was indeed getting out of control. I decided to go ahead and sell the blog and go offline.  Sadly, that was not enough to save my marriage and I went through a difficult divorce leaving me heartbroken and depressed. It took a few years to recover: soul-searching, working odd-jobs and extended travels.  While I did find contentment in simple living without credit cards or a bank account, I knew someday I will return to business.

“When you fall, you get back up” – is the advice I live by.  So, in 2014 in between driving people on Uber I studied for the California Real Estate License exam. In January 2015 I passed it and become licensed to sell real estate, ready to put my expertise and knowledge to use in the industry I love.  The following year, in 2015, I passed the NMLS exam becoming licensed to originate mortgages. Finally, in 2016, I passed the California Broker exam and have set up my own independent practice offering a you a ONE STOP SOURCE for all your real estate and financing needs.
